BLACKPINK's Lisa Tests Positive for Covid-19

INTERNATIONAL: Lisa of Blackpink has tested positive for Covid-19. It was announced by YG Entertainment on Wednesday. Following Lisa’s Covid-19 positive result, other members were also tested. Luckily, Jisoo, Rosé, and Jennie tested negative for the virus.

Lalisa Manoban, better known as Lisa from the K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, has tested positive for Covid-19. In an official statement released by her agency YG Entertainment, it has confirmed that Lisa was diagnosed with the coronavirus on Wednesday afternoon. The other members of Blackpink, a four-woman group whose fame and commercial success have traveled far beyond South Korea, Rosé, Jennie and Jisoo were all tested negative.

YG Entertainment has added to the announcement, that they have shared the information quickly and accurately with representatives and staff. It has claimed that they took a strong pre-emptive measure even beyond the guidelines of health authorities. And they will continue to not hold back on providing full support with the health of their artists and related staff members. But the 24-year-oldLisa, had not yet addressed her nearly 68 million Instagram followers on her situation.

 A Thai-born singer and rapper, Ms. Manoban is among the most acclaimed faces of K-pop, with legions of fans. She is part of K-pop’s most globally successful all-female group. Five of Blackpink’s videos have been watched more than one billion times on YouTube, including 1.7 billion views for “DDU-DU-DDU-DU.”

Ms. Manoban’s debut solo album, “Lalisa,” was released on 10 September. Her first single, “LALISA,” set a YouTube record for the most-viewed music video by a solo artist in 24 hours with 73.6 million views, dethroning Taylor Swift’s “ME!” in 2019. Lisa of BLACKPINK is the latest K-pop celebrity to test positive for COVID-19 in recent months.
